I have Arrived.

It has been months since I last stepped foot in my study. As I sit here at my desk to look over my notes, it seems like I was just here yesterday. Yet the dust layer says otherwise.

I really should get a housekeeper if I am going to be longer than two months.

Originally I was to be gone for a month and a half, a holiday if you will. Mixing business with leisure is never one to do,
if one truly wants to go on vacation.
Or should I say don't do foot work while at play...
5 months later I return after a mad chase of imagination and reality. Here I sit once more on the verge of something profound.

A Thousand Words... A Letter From The Author.

A picture can be a worth a thousand words. But the words that describe the event are priceless.

It was brought to my attention that a picture in my journal should be removed due to ownership rites. The pictures in my journal (that are not my own) are found on the internet and not linked to any one person. Therefore asking for usage rites is not easily an option. I have in the past been asked to link someone else's work, so that their site or photographs can receive the proper glory that is deserved for their time and effort. Additionally, I have asked the same in regards of my creations when others wish to use them.

As stated early on in this journal, I have no intention to undermine the creator of such fabulous finds on the internet - if it is only brought to my attention. I understand that everyone has to make a living and earn money to survive. But what I offer here in this journal is accounts of adventures that others would not even dream of, and it is free. Something I take my time and effort to create for others to enjoy, but mainly to educate about our oceans. I have over the years received many thanks and emails from those who are less fortunate and do not have the opportunity to explore our underwater world. My descriptions give these people the chance to explore the oceans the way I have. Additionally, this gives people a better understanding of what they are destroying, even if they do not live or partake in the ocean directly. It is a shame that this person feels so strongly about their work as to ask me to exclude it from my journal. The picture that I had found was exactly what I encountered. To be able to capture my words and experiences in one photograph, is very rare. And as an author and photography myself, I would be honored to have the correlation.

In reality anyone can find this picture and countless others without names or links to sites claiming them. If one should come across the actual site of the photographer, should the general public not look at the pictures posted there to see by the owner themselves? Or should we ask for permission to view their site, or even pay to view their site?

Furthermore, it is obvious that some people still wish to exploit and sell our oceans... how selfish and truly sad.
