Kamma Niyama.
Quite simply put: cause and effect...
If one takes a block of ice, which holds a certain amount of density, it is less likely to melt at a faster rate (minus outside variants). If one wishes to have ice cubes, one simply pokes holes into the block of ice, thus making it less dense and breaking apart what was seemingly a strong mass. Therefore, making it more susceptible to melting at a quicker rate.

I could surely go into more scientific detail about impurities and components, but my simple explanation above is just that, simple... The core density of ice, once drilled in one or more places, is drastically altered. Altered enough to melt at a faster rate than a whole block.

Since 1966 we have begun the documented quest of coring. Between the years 1992 and 1994, a total of 5,603 cores were taken in ONE location. Over a ten year span a total of 870 at another site. Those are just figures from two different coring locations, and many places all over our planet are being drilled.

As a scientist and archeologist, I do get giddy over the mass amounts of information we can only speculate over in finds held within cores - But everything should be in moderation. Did it ever occur to anyone that taking core samples from ice, or from the Earth itself (for that matter) disrupts the balances and the natural cycles of the planet?

Or are we just too indifferent to see the cause is mankind?

Just Breathe.
(Breathe - Two Of Cups)
The glitter path before me stretches out into heavily dusted road.
The fullness of the luminous gold orb hangs in the viewpoint between shadowed mountains and dusk blue.
The journey takes me far... far.
The road stretches out in the opposite direction taking me far away.
With each footstep sparkles all around, they crunch beneath my feet.
Breaking unwanted memories into a thousand pieces.
I walk this direction by will.
I am not sure how long it will take before the past is erased, how long I must walk.
And the voice lingers in my head, "Just Breathe".
But I know that when I reach the shore, the sun will have forgotten the time and the frost will be no more left behind.
