Oh Jerry!

(If You Wanna Be Happy - Jimmy Soul)

I had a friend back in high school... Every time we got together to head out to the beach, this song always played on one of the radio stations on the ride over. Thus, it became our beach going theme song. He drove a sidekick, soft top. Since it was generally warm, the top was always off and the wind would wisp around our faces, bringing warmth and light. My 60's debonair platform sandals always dangled out the side window, as my land legs were propped up with ankles crossed. He always chided me by saying I was born in the wrong time and in the wrong place. Today, sun beaming and this song began again... I couldn't but help recollect and laugh.

Any Given Morning.

Words can't describe the beauty of the day. So surreal in its majesty. My horse and carriage creep along slowly through the mountain pass, as the ground below glistens. The atmosphere must be remarkably clear to let the moon shine through in such detail. I should of stopped my carriage to marvel at it, but society wouldn't have it that way. Society's rush and bustle lead one to miss out on any given morning.

Oriental Expression In Acrylic.

Having always been fascinated with the Orient and more than capable in the art, I found myself wanting to venture in acrylic. Not just the usual pen and ink that the years of my Oriental expression has lead, but something new and infused. Color, but not just any colors - the colors of royalty.

How Do I Do It On Land?

It is very difficult to stay away so long. From the water, that is. I have been asked before just how do I manage being away and on land for so long... The trick isn't absolute, but it works for the time I am away. I drink salt water - a calculated amount daily in the morning to start my day. As much as regular beings need fresh clean water, the most also need the minerals and deposits left behind in the form of salt, natural from the sea. Generally, one eats salt with meals. But mermaids, such as myself, need a bit more to flourish. It doesn't work out all the kinks of having land legs, so I must get wet sooner or later. But in the meantime... tasty salt water.
